Our Story

I grew up in The Bronx

Sixth floor. Stadium Avenue. The Throgs Neck Bridge. The Whitestone Bridge. The Empire State Building in the distance. On a clear day, you could see the Twin Towers too.

When they were still there, I grew up looking at how big the world was from that terrace and somewhere in the back of my head, I think it planted something. There was more out there, and I was going to find it.

The man who shaped me most was John Cappello. He drove my mother to the hospital the night I was born. My father was not there. John was.

And he stayed.

From him, I learned what it means to show up for someone without being asked. To love people fully. To understand that sometimes the most valuable thing one person can give another is simply their presence.

I lost him on August 15, 2023.

After he was gone, I found myself trying to understand what remains when someone who mattered is no longer here. Not money. Not property. The things they leave in you. The way they changed how you see the world.

That is where PV Home came from

By then, I had lived through four places that had changed me in completely different ways: New York, Arizona, California, and Texas.

I started writing about them.

Before there were candles, there was the writing.

Those four places became four chapters of a life, and eventually those chapters began taking another form through scent, illustration, and objects that could be held.

Empire is New York. The beginning. The Bronx. The bridges. The city that first made the world feel bigger.

Dune is Arizona. The awakening. The desert opening around you for the first time and realizing there was another way to live.

Halo is California. The evolution. Light, possibility, reinvention, and the version of yourself you become when you finally allow your life to expand.

Bishop is Texas. The legacy. Arriving somewhere and, for the first time, knowing you are staying.

The candles came from the writing. Not the other way around.

That matters to me because these places were never chosen to create a collection. They were already part of a life.

The Journey Collection is limited to 1,000 hand-numbered units per scent. Each chapter is a document of that life, made tangible through scent, illustration, and place.

The story begins with mine.
